CLA Outcomes Conference 2026 · Dallas, TX · April 24, 2026
Resilience is no longer just about recovering from a single disruption. In this CLA Outcomes conference session, Dr. Julie Armstrong explored what it takes to lead well in an environment of continuous, overlapping change. Drawing on her original research, she introduced the Resilience Quad—a practical framework built around four interconnected elements: Purpose, People, Process, and Perspective. Together, these dimensions help leaders create the internal and relational capacity needed to stay grounded, make sense of uncertainty, and support others through sustained pressure.
The session emphasized that resilience can be intentionally developed and multiplied across teams, not simply expected from individual leaders. By strengthening shared purpose, investing in trusted relationships, creating clear and adaptable processes, and cultivating a constructive perspective, leaders can help people remain connected, capable, and effective even when change does not let up. The Resilience Quad offers a practical way to move resilience from an abstract ideal to a set of leadership practices that can be built into everyday work.
